The four-building main complex of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas is characterized by rectilinear massing and uniformity. The design of the building was an exercise in quick, decisive planning, as the old Central Bank building in Intramuros was badly damaged by a strong earthquake. The institution needed a good, effective design immediately.
